Due to our strong reputation for providing precision machining services, Fairchild Auto-Mated Parts was contracted by a client from the oil exploration industry to CNC Swiss machine a series of stainless steel down hole nose guides. Due to our ability to create precision parts that meet our customer’s unique product requirements; this is now an ongoing project for our company. Using our 6-axis Swiss turning center, we currently manufacture 100 to 300 parts per year for this client, meeting ± .002″ tolerances, with a circular run out and true position of .005″.
To manufacture these guides, we first rough and finish turn all outer part diameters. We then machine the unit flat and drill and countersink all holes. These drilled holes are also tapped and threaded by our skilled technicians. After all down hole nose guides are machined, we heat treat all units to H1025-1150 standards, and laser engrave all part numbers onto the exterior of each component.
Once the hole nose guides are fully inspected for quality, we then ship all finished products to various client-specified locations throughout the world, offering 10-week turnaround times on all production runs. Our precision hole nose guides always meet client expectations for both performance and durability.
