1944

Founded

Founded by Roger Fairchild in Southington, CT as a Brown & Sharpe screw machine shop to support the U.S.’s WWII efforts

 

1945-1946

Settled in Winsted

Roger moved the business to Winsted, CT, incorporated as “Fairchild Screw Products” and joined the PMPA (Precision Machined Products Association)

1955

Natural disaster hit

Fairchild moved to a new building in 1953 only for massive flooding to hit 2 years later; after 2 weeks of full-time cleaning, they were back in business

1965

New generation

After 10 years of growth, Roger’s son Stanley bought the business and re-named it “Fairchild Auto-Mated Parts, Incorporated”

1970

Second Era

Norman F. Thompson III, an experienced Clock Engineer, was hired to manage the company. In 1981, Norman purchased the business brought in his son, Jake, also a Yale Engineer

2000

ISO9001 Certification

Fairchild’s Quality Management System became ISO 9001 certified (a certification that has been maintained to this day)

2008

New Generation

Upon his father’s retirement, Jake took over ownership of Fairchild, continuing to invest in new machining technologies

2022

Third Era

Leland Licciardi, formerly an Engineer at Lockheed Martin, purchased Fairchild from Jake with ambitions to grow the business
