JOB OPENING: PRODUCTION MANAGER

ROLE OVERVIEW

Role: Production Manager

Reports to: President

Employment Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Shift:8-hours M-F, start at 7:00 AM or 7:30 AM

Summary: We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee our CNC machine shop operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day production activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards, optimizing manufacturing processes, and leading a team of skilled machinists and setup technicians.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and coordinate daily production activities to ensure that production goals are met or exceeded.
  • Develop and manage production schedule and determine optimal use of resources (labor, materials, and equipment) to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of setup technicians and machinists, providing guidance and support.
  • Enforce the Quality Management System (AS9100D certified), ensuring a safe working environment and product quality.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and procurement to meet customer requirements.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase profitability, leveraging production data analysis
  • Monitor production, reporting on performance and initiatives.
  • Oversee maintenance of equipment and machinery to optimize performance and minimize downtime.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Systems Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in CNC machining or manufacturing operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of effectively managing teams and driving operational excellence.
  • Independent problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems; JobBoss² ERP experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming, CNC machining processes, and shop equipment is preferred.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Kaizen) is preferred.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g., AS9100D, ISO9001:2015) is preferred.
