JOB OPENING: SWISS/CNC MACHINE TECHNICIAN

OVERVIEW

Role: Swiss/CNC Machine Technician

Reports to: Production Manager

Employment Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Shift: First (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM)

Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Swiss/CNC Setup Technician and Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and overseeing the operation of CNC Swiss and lathe machines. This role involves ensuring the production of high-quality precision machined components in a safe and efficient manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Tool, program, set-up and operate CNC Swiss and/or lathe machines to produce products in accordance with production needs and customer specifications, performing inspections and hand deburring.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to resolve product discrepancies and maintain measuring devices and equipment.
  • Raise to supervisor any product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, and other events that put production at risk.
  • Maintain detailed records of machine setups, production runs, quality checks, machine maintenance and maintain an organized work area.
  • Suggest ideas for business improvement (efficiency, communication, quality, etc.).
  • Comply with safety regulations and company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC machining is preferred but not required.
  • 2+ years of experience in setting up and operating CNC Swiss and CNC lathe machines. Miyano/Citizen and Daewoo/Doosan experience a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications and understand fractions / decimals.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers, calipers, and gages). Experience with Keyence, optical comparator equipment, concentricity gage, and profilometer a plus.
  • Must have good skills in organization and planning, demonstrated ability to work independently, and exercise sound judgment and problem solving.
  • Effective communications skills (English) and ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft products (Outlook, excel).
